1. Physical Inspection & Hinge Functionality

• We begin with a careful examination of the phone's exterior, focusing on the key mechanical feature: the flip.

  • Inspect the outer casing, front screen, and keypad for scratches, cracks, or dents.

  • Check the hinge for any looseness, wobble, or dust/debris that could impede its function.

  • Confirm that the phone snaps open and closed smoothly and securely.

2. Basic Functionality & Button Test

• Next, we test all the essential features that define a basic flip phone's utility.

  • Power on the device and check the main internal display and the external display (if present) for dead pixels or discoloration.

  • Test all physical buttons—keypad numbers, navigation buttons, and volume controls—to ensure they are responsive and click correctly.

  • Place a test call to confirm that the earpiece speaker, microphone, and loudspeaker all work clearly.

3. Battery & Charging Test

• We verify that the phone's power system is in good working order for reliable, day-to-day use.

  • Check the charging port for any damage and ensure it connects securely to the charger.

  • Test the battery's ability to hold a charge and monitor it for any signs of rapid draining.

  • Confirm that the phone charges properly when plugged in.

4. Connectivity & Signal

• We test the phone's ability to connect to and maintain a stable network connection.

  • Insert a SIM card and confirm that the phone registers on the cellular network and can send and receive calls.

  • Test any other connectivity features, such as Bluetooth, to ensure they pair with other devices correctly.

5. Data & Feature Reset

• The final step ensures the phone is ready for a new user by wiping all previous data.

  • Perform a factory reset to erase all contacts, call logs, and personal information.

  • Confirm that any internal memory is cleared and the phone's settings are returned to their default state.
